I really like the potential direction of Hotaru finding her purpose as a Guide alongside Kuro. It's such a perfect resolution to her character arc & journey of self-discovery and finding meaning and a fulfilling purpose for herself. Simply "moving on" to whatever comes After would be....well, peaceful, I guess, but the active pursuit of seeking to help others is something that's just very Her. And doing that, within the context of this newfound knowledge about herself, and the sense of Self that she's gained (and all the confidence and self-valuing that accompanies that) are just so good.
But I'm also glad she ran into Shiori, and that she has this chance to finally make peace. She needs to resolve her regrets; nothing says that she can't stick around and work with Kuro afterward, but she needs to do this, to avoid losing herself entirely (like Kyouko feared). Plus, it's still part of the resolution process for her character; she finally remembers everything that transpired between herself and her two best friends, and now we find out that Shiori wasn't even mad about Hotaru liking Ren: she was upset that Hotaru was once again denying herself, simply to try and accommodate others. It redeems Shiori's character as well; she remains Hotaru's best & closest friend, even in death, and now that Hotaru has found her sense of Self and has learned to see her value for her own sake, she can fully appreciate the bonds she still has, even as they grow more and more one-sided with time.
Just a good way to culminate all of what's happened. Hopefully we see her resolve everything and get to work as a Guide alongside Kuro for the ending, and I'd call this a solid 8/10 ("Very Good") series.

Kinda annoys me a little bit how some things are just all over the place in the past chapters. Like what happened to the trapped spirits that come to attack her when she get's emotional? She is still out there crying so much but no sprit attacks her anymore?
Also the friend isn't spooked at all coz she can suddenly see her dead best friend running after her??? Earlier for her first regret Hotaru had to tell her grandma she was a ghost so her grandma wouldn't get scared seeing her again. But that's apparently now gone out the window for Shiori.
I know it's only 13-14 chapters but there's lots inconsistencies
