I just realized that she isn’t really a ‘villainess’ anymore. In fact she never was. She was a poor PTSD stricken war vetter who was manipulated by outside forces.

Calling it that the real julia and someone else from our world (maybe the original owner of the MC's body?) switched places which explains why the novel julia suddendly changed for the worse. Would be more satisfying explanation why the mc has learned swordmanship in just few days and why she seems to fit so well in this new world than just "she read the novel".
