An entire manga built on making deadpan gags out of miscommunication, completely and so casually subverting the "they're not actually dating" variant of these same jokes, hit way harder than I ever thought it would. I didn't think they'd just straight up call Yanage's delusions out in the same chapter it was established. Especially since he's the only one out of the loop and made logical deductions himself.

This author is always so fresh. A real comedian.

This kind of art is the type that anime only fans are missing. Sure, there are a few series, but a lot of animes are over the top action or nothing happening CGDCT, there's so much of that that weird animes like this manga are usually buried. Hinamatsuri anime was great but it was almost invisible, same thing happen to a lot of amazing animes. Luckily manga has more room for stories like this to breath.

A child in an adult body at a cabaret/hostess club ain't the worst thing ever. Keep in mind Megumi didn't and doesn't understand the seedier side of adults. I'm actually more impressed she said the right thing without blowing Mary's cover as a hit (wo)man.
Instead Mary is about to blow her own cover, likely in the next chapter.
On a side note, I hope the author finds a way to treat Mary's sister... but IDK, given how hard decent/good people must suffer in his manga stories. But at least in this one, all the ones getting off'd are actual bad people.

this author is a genius i've been raving to anyone i know ever since i read hinamtasuri, no one does comedy so cleverly and fun as this guy, so many layers to every panel, complete complete genius, might be one of my favorite pieces of art like ever.
