The "$699" meme at the end was killer. It's also more like $810 plus tax if you include the $30 stand and $80 disc drive. With a 10% sales tax, that's like $891. At the point, why get a console? Gaming PC's are available at that price. Pre-built too, if you get them on clearance.
If you live near a Microcenter (I do, although it's a little bit far) getting a combo deal on motherboard + processor and grabbing other parts on sale from the clearance / refurbished / returned bin could get you a real monster of a machine for around $900, even after tax. That is, if you don't mind building it yourself.
