The author didn't make a mistake on "LUK", stats in old RPGs had 3 letters at the most to fit screen and programming constraints. STR, END, INT, MND, DEX, AGI, and LUK are the most common, along with HP and MP only needing 2 letters each. Even written in romanji, most Japanese gamers know what they mean even if they don't know much English.
