At least from what the first chapter tells us, it wasn't that he was necessarily corrupted or anything like that, per say (he may have been, but it was not said specifically). Basically, he now has lived 2 lives. One where his entire life was sacrificed for the greater humanity. Basically from birth to death, his life was already laid out for him, without his say in any of it. In his second life, he was unfortunate enough to be stuck working for a "black company" only to die after 70 days of harsh training. Basically he became a slave to a company. Then when the goddess was going to reincarnate him once again, she was only suggesting even harsher and more difficult conditions. So he asked to be reincarnated into the world he once saved so he can just have a life where he finally can make the decisions as to how it gets spent. No responsibilities from birth, no having to work a shitty job, just freedom to do as he pleases, more or less.

Now, I am not saying that having a girl choose between not getting fucked or saving her friends is very "hero-like". But I do somewhat see his reasoning, even if it is, less than normal, and fairly inappropriate. His entire outlook on life is that he makes the decision. If you want something from him, he will propose the conditions. No more hand-outs, no free services, no "guilt-tripped" favors. Even if it would be a trivial task, he has to be the one who makes the final call whether to do it or not. It just happens to be that his go to price for his service is sex. Plus, while she may not have many alternative options at the moment, he isn't forcing her to have sex with him against her will. She has every freedom to refuse the offer. He is not physically forcing her into this.

Now, situationally speaking, it may still be considered a situation in which he forced her to agree to his conditions due to her circumstances and that time being of the essence is a major player (basically she only agreed to it because she was under duress or that his demand could be considered a form of extortion). And it is kind of a fucked up price for his services. However, she also is essentially asking him to risk his life to save her friends, who may or may not be already dead anyways. Sure this may be nothing to him, but she does not know this. Does he not have the right to refuse her request even if he does not feel like doing it? That he has some kind of Noblesse obliige just because he has the job of Hero? Or that because he can do it, he simply has to? As far as we know, no. He has no responsibility or obligation to do it, just because he was asked to do so. This very chapter shows us this earlier when he turned down the guild receptionist's subtle request.

Also, he may hold the job of "Hero", but the world currently is not in need of one. So it is essentially a dead job. Meaning he has no need for holding up appearances, fulfilling requests for free, protecting people just because he is in the area or was asked to, etc. His one job is/was to kill the Demon King, which he had already has done 50 years ago, and was immediately rewarded with possibly and even shittier second life. This is basically compensation and an early retirement for him.

However, he also has shown to be honest. He keeps his promises. If he says he will do something, he will without any further compensation. For example, he could have just kept the money Aleida raised in order to by her freedom and just kept her his slave without actually granting her freedom. But he didnt do that. He acknowledged her freedom, and would have let her leave just like that (ch.9). So it is a fair bet that he will not just abandon the girl once he is finished with her. He will keep his end of the deal.

You put more effort into that essay than the author put in the plotline.
