One can think of a number of possible reasons why the Save Jessie side quest was so short: Otherwise, it could have made the chapter too long, would have required more time to draw, could have trivialized the main point, ...

@HYBRID_BEING, It was difficult to get that sentence right, and here's why. Up until their current time, [Meteor Shower] was fired at least 3 times. Let's name these points in time A, B, and C, where C is the latest. There are 50 years between A and B. There are hundreds of years between B and C because Darkness was sealed. Now, when Fury was explaining, she was talking about the "Elves' records", meaning only A, B and earlier. C is not yet included. So with respect to that, she said "According to the Elves' records, the last time the King of Darkness fired [Meteor Shower] was over 50 years later". The last time being point B.
If she were to say "50 years ago", it wouldn't make sense.
