People who hasn't read the Novel.
Sansui is actually quite cold than he looks.
He base his decisions on whether they need to be killed or not.
Sansui would have killed her given the chance due to the potential danger she posed to the innocent.

oo. cold and oppressing protagonist.
@Crywolf641 that's really interesting that the novel, he is even more "boring"
with all the mind-numbing but gratifying, endless training. it's ingrained and there isn't a need for second thought. our protagonist or this story isn't much for a scheming protagonist, but the overwhelming giant of a prodigy... it's done good

@Clad95150 it is a training advice, an a way. he also said to trust your training. how long he's been training again? and the result is showing now. so to git gud they need to train hard and be patient with it.

This version of the fight barely indicates her spirit is broken.

Those who read the LN know how Sansui did this. Spoilers for LN version of this fight.

Sansui never gave his wooden sword for Brauer to hold. He didnā€™t bother even ā€œunsheathingā€ it for almost the entire fight.

He does the fight a bit differently. First, fighting her normally. Then trying to teach her things like patience and whatnot. Eventually it gets to the point that it is so one-sided that despite Rin not quite giving up yet, he still easily handles her. With Rin on the ground due to all the damage she took, he finally ā€œunsheathesā€ his wooden sword and explains that if it wasnā€™t for the ā€œno killingā€ order, he bluntly says loudly that her being a berserker is a risk he believes is too dangerous to leave alive, and he has no qualms killing right her here and now. That his only regret he didnā€™t realize this sooner and didnā€™t take care of the problem before this point. Since this fight was so one-sided, Rin realizes immediately that she will die and breaks down crying.

Sansui achieving the goal of breaking her spirit, does nothing and leaves her be. This brings up a problem for the noble family Sansui is serving. They never had an instance where Sansui would be against an order theyā€™ve given and believe itā€™s high time to change his position of bodyguard to something else. Since they believe that if they gave another order that countered his will, they believe that Sansui would most likely ignore it, if he believed it was for the best. So they plan to have Sansui become an instructor instead and eventually sooner to marry Brauer.

The only reason why there was a ā€œno killingā€ order was because the Kingdom wanted Rin alive to teach other berserkers in order to give the kingdom more chances at rare arts and stuff. Since they lack an actual Trump card. The order was pushed through the noble family Sansui is serving. The Kingdom annoyingly is so obsessed with strengthening themselves because the Big four noble families each has a Trump card. And they still havenā€™t gotten over it.

@spathi I think it's because Sansui's impromptu style is unpredictable, because his attack will change at a moments notice. So he would have to be constantly reactivating the precognition skill to see the new attack.

@hayatekanzaki Well from what I've seen in the comments, isn't the manga's Sansui a much more "mellow" guy? I think they just toned done the brutality of his character to make him more likeable to the general audience.

Prcog doesnt work because the movements he do are based in the moment aka present, that is why he is telling her to try and read his movements, there is nothing to read lel

Precognition only allows the user to see one possible future. Itā€™s already shown that even with precognition, he has no viable defense against Sansui. In a hypothetical scenario if these two were enemies. Thereā€™s the high chance his precognition would only result him in seeing darkness aka nothing as he would be dead in the next instant.

In previous chapters his fights against Sansui using precognition still resulted in his defeat.
1st fight: he predicted Sansui would strike him a certain way. Sansui changed his mind in a momentā€™s notice and defeated him a different way.
3rd fight: he saw the future but was unable to determine how he lost. In the precognition vision. He saw Sansui, then immediately saw the sky. He had no way to defend against that. There were no clues for him to use and his current skill set all being used is still no match for Sansui.

@spathi

He knows that heā€™s practiced for so long that heā€™s way OP compared to everybody else, so he just goes in full offense and whacks them. Basically ignoring whatever idea the opponent came up with to defend themselves, after trying to read his moves.

I typically see two different future theories in manga.

1. There are a bunch of different futures coexisting and you can see one/multiple.

2. There's only one future but it's one of two things:
A. You can see it perfectly
B. The future is ever-changing so it's impossible to predict perfectly

Also it's possible he moves faster than the speed of light and thus isn't able to be predicted or something like that (just something along those lines)
