Gonna have to admit, the Dumb arse king finally made first not dumb decision in the story, of finally accept the sunk cost of "Hero party" and disband it. Tho it's probably far far too late.
It's just like so many CEO's. "Let's fire the people who were doing their job well so we can get some short term savings. Surely, they would be happy to train cheaper replacements and none of their skills or knowledge matters because they are just bodies nothing more."
