The SS is only like 5 pages, so I'll just release it at the same time.

My second finished manga, woohoo!

I didn't translate the mangaka and author's afterword, but you'll get to read my afterword, lol.

Thanks to everyone who tried giving this manga a read, who leaves comments and likes, and those who have faithfully followed and left comments every release from the very beginning. I appreciate seeing familiar faces throughout this whole 477 days even if I don't always reply.
And a big thank you anyone who donated to me. Any donation given is very much appreciated and I'm very grateful for them.

If some of you are dissatisfied with the very abrupt and quick resolution, remember, I did say from the start
https://forums.mangadex.org/threads...oto-ni-shita-vol-1-ch-4.1849837/post-22466197
that this is a fluffy manga first and foremost with not much plot. That was not a lie.

If you're wondering at the improbability of Matthias easily infiltrating another country's CP's room, in the 80s, there was an unemployed intruder who entered Buckingham palace on two separate occasion. First time around, he ate some food, drank some wine, looked at some portraits, and sat on the throne. Second time around, he made it all the way to queen Elizabeth's bedroom by climbing some pipes and waking her up.

Also some may not like the damsel in distress ending, but if it makes you feel better, Fiona came in clutch and rescues both luke and Matthias on the next novel volume, where Matthias consequently was on the verge of dying from the poisonous wounds he got.

Now this will get lengthy so you can skip this part if you're not interested in added info regarding the series.
Since we're not getting anymore of this manga, Imma lore drop novel contents. Obvious spoiler is obvious.

(I should be putting this in ch15 comment section but, this is as good as any.)So the last chapter there's a mention of the prince hugging and kissing Fiona. The kissing part obviously didn't make it in the manga, and to be precise, the prince kissed and licked her cheek. Mangaka or editor probably realized how off putting that would be to many and skipped that, lol.

Yes, Luke is also a sacred treasure user. But as he said, it's top secret and he doesn't really like to use or carry it around as the responsibility feels heavy for him, so he usually just leaves it in the royal treasure vault.
Luke also added a clause to the curse to not seek compensation for the roof from them.

The mangaka opted to trim certain scenes to save on pages this volume so she could finally slip in an SS. She couldn't before because there was no extra pages to put one in before.

This manga's SS isn't actually so much of an SS, more like a snippet from the LN taking place chronologically after Fiona bought thank you gifts for them. The novel SS is something else.

So what happened to the prince? After this incident, of course he couldn't tell who invaded and why. As per instructions given to him, he gave up his rights to the throne, picked a distant, good relative as a successor and retreated broken to a remote villa somewhere. Not sure if the original curse compensation is still in effect after luke removed it since it doesn't say, but presumably, dude has his life cut shorter with no crown and Fiona to show for it. There was a slight glimmer of a happy/contentment route at the end of his pov.

The ruling class of the empire then promptly ignored his nomination after that and installed a young puppet crown prince regent, gilberte's much younger brother, with the one actually ruling is the prime minister. And then they went to Elcida in a diplomatic delegation, waved their dicks around and demanded Fiona and the sacred treasure back. But that's a story for vol 3 novel.
This guy here,

who placed the original and curse 2.0 on Fiona also makes it in vol 3 as a minor mob side character that went with the delegation. He has chunks of body parts missing because the more darker and intense curses demands compensation, and he's obsessed with curses so a good fit for his occupation.

Now you may have a passing thought on how Matthias just decides important things on his own and told Fiona he'll take care of every political objection to her presence and just swags into the throne room and demands certain things from the king like wanting to bring an arch enemy in and the king just does as he asked. He did mention very briefly of having a good lineage and being a sacred treasure user affords him a certain authority second only to the king in the kingdom, but he downplayed the lineage part and never mentions it to Fiona as he doesn't want to make her feel self conscious and uncomfortable about it. Matthias is actually the rightful heir to the throne if they follow primogeniture correctly. Matthias's father was the first born prince and elder brother of the current king. He gave up his claim to the throne and his royal position in his tweens because he was born sickly and everyone doesn't expect him to live long. So he figured might as well give it from the start to his younger brother instead of him dying young and creating an upheaval and political vacuum once he eventually dies a young king. And if you play crusader kings 3, oh boy you know what a king's death entails. Half your new rule occupied with civil war, draining your coffers, getting you into debt that only goes green the last 10 years of your lifespan, then you die and the cycle repeats. Or maybe I'm just bad at playing crusader kings
But I digress.
So Matthias's father gave up his royal position to live a YOLO life, eventually married a duchess, and to the surprise of everyone, sired Matthias, a healthy baby boy. Matthias's father passed when he was a young teen AFAIR. Matthias, influenced by his father's freewheeling life also doesn't like having an excessively high position and rank. So when his mother remarried and had another child, he gave up his claim for the duchy to his younger half brother, denounced all claim to the throne and then promptly joined the knights and moved into the knight's quarters living a very simple life. His mother ain't having none of that, so she conspired with the king to at least give him a knight commander's authority in the knight's order and the upgraded only second to the king rank as a sacred treasure user to the irritation of Matthias, which the king isn't opposed to, as you see in ch2 or 3, I forgot. That's why you see Matthias giving orders to everyone with everyone obeying in ch13.

Now he doesn't abuse or actually even use the authority. He only uses them when it comes to Fiona, and he mostly does it in secret without her knowing it, like rearranging her day off to coincide with his so they could go on dates, taking a healer with him to bully Fiona's bully, giving her tribute level honey cough drops, or bringing Fiona along with the royal entourage for a royal wedding in another country.

So both Luke and Matthias are the king's nephew. It's not mentioned, but luke is maybe on the mother's side. There's no mention of luke and Matthias being cousins by blood or ties.
Speaking of which, Luke, Leila, Matthias and Muriel are highborn while Graham is a commoner orphan.
Matthias can I think only use wind magic, while Muriel are one of the rare ones who could use all 4 magic at a time and was the youngest to become a member of the magician corps. That's why she was overconfident of beating a nerfed Fiona in a duel. Leila could use 2 I think, when she was young. No mention of whether she could use more in her current age, but probably not.

Contrary to what you may think on the ending of the manga, they didn't get together at this point. They actually got together about... 1/3 point of vol 2 novel. Fiona got a maggot in her head that despite everyone telling her straight up Matthias loves her already, he's just nice to her cause he's a nice man(which Graham scoffs at, calling him a demon). And there's about 3-4 chapters of her trying to figure out how to get Matthias to notice her. My favourite one is where on her second paycheck, she's mulling on what to give matthias again, luke popped in and said the best present for Matthias is to just give him a big hug and say thank you for everything, which fiona dismisses at not being a serious suggestion. Muriel then recommends fiona take matthias to a haunted house attraction which muriel guarantees he will like, to Fiona's scepticism. Matthias was nonplussed on why she's taking him there of all places, especially when fiona's scared shitless and is clinging to him out of fright the whole trip. The trip ends with fiona pushing matthias down and hugging his head tightly in tears after being terrified by sadako. Needless to say matthias was very happy at that, but told muriel not to do it again:smugnako:

Graham also has a short romance sidestory. His love interest is a woman of 20+ but cursed to perpetual loliness, by her own dying mother, all because her lolicon stepfather made a move on her own daughter when she was about 12-13 and her sickly mother begrudged her for that, so with her dying strength, she, who has dark curse powers, placed a dying curse on her own daughter, dooming her to being a child and not growing up. She's a dark curse user too and makes her living that way, living a transient life, not staying in a place too long so as to not arouse questions on her nonaging and she's still being pursued by her obsessed former stepfather. And along the way tried to have her inconvenient curse removed by seeing a lot of curse sealers but the curse sealers all said the grudge was too strong for them to remove since it's a dying curse. And somewhere along the way, she heard rumours of luke being the strongest curse breaker, so she went to elcida to see him, but luke was away and she came across graham who promised to take her to see luke once he comes back. He only knows that she's cursed and doesn't know what kind, so she treats her like how she looks like. Graham has a soft spot for child orphans seeing how he's one too. The fl comes to like graham pretty quickly, but he says he's into the bonkyuubon type of women which she most certainly is not at the present. Graham got his wish for a bonkyuubon woman once her curse is removed and she grows into her actual age, asking if he likes what he sees:meguusmug:
That be the summary of his whole sidestory spinoff. I wish the mangaka would comicalize it. I think it's cute.

Well. Shame it didn't really continue as a manga. I was looking forward to seeing more fluffy bits. Thanks for the translation. But this is one less shoujo manga being updated and this makes me sad

It's a personal pet peeve of mine when LN adaptations end before the main characters actually get together, but this was one of the better LN ad endings I've seen. I just really wish they could've gone a little longer, but it was still a great series nonetheless. Thanks for translating!

Thanks for the translation!

Sorry to see this end, but happy to get an ending that didn't feel TOO rushed (still felt a lil rushed).

Understandable such a sudden and convenient problem would be met with an equally sudden and convenient solution.

Still rather frustrating, but what's there to do? :aquadrink:

Thank you for the translation!
