Best way to chop veggies if you're not a professional chef is to just grab whatever you're chopping firmly and chop it carefully. That cat's paw thing is faster (which is the main reason chefs use it), but the grip isn't great.

I kinda want curry now, maybe I’ll make it for dinner tomorrow, already have something planned for tonight after all. Also that is one cool ass apron, and I couldn’t hold back my laughter from the whole “bash into smithereens” part, and how nonchalant his response to it was.
