Yknow... this makes a lot of sense actually. Ryou seemed like he was assertive enough to have a girlfriend, and a good leader overall.
It'd also make sense why he'd become so suicidal so quick. When he loses his reason to live, he'd become suicidal, but i think his original assertive personality will remain, just destroyed because he has no goal in life anymore.
Poor guy.
