@keytagnan it's been awhile since I read the novel version, but here's what I can remember
in Bertia's supposed fate, Cecil is prone to be extremely apathetic to everything except for something he obssesses over. If he does not fall for the heroine, making her his object of affection, then he will obsess over war and killing. What Bertia doesn't realize is that Cecil has already gotten his obsession/object of affection : Bertia.

Can someone please give me a spoiler/explanation for this?

So if I remember correctly. . . . the heroine will try one last time to use her bird to be-spell the prince again and in the process, the bird dies so the prince gives the heroine the whole option of going to a faraway nunnery to help it heal faster as a punishment. But what I don't remember is why exactly Tia is so insanely convinced that the prince needs to be with the heroine in order to gain a happy ending? I know the subject was touched upon when the prince talked with his father, the king last chapter, but I'm still vague on the real details behind this "happiness=heroine" reason. Something about the prince's interest/lack-of-interest equating to him being a good ruler I think? Can someone please properly explain it? Thank you!

@keytagnn not a spoiler, but it was hinted earlier that the 'heroine' was the 'fated maiden', so yes presumably in the game the heroine saves the kingdom in the end from something like a demon king

Wow, the artist did a wonderful job on Bertia’s expressions this chapter. I’m really impressed at how gorgeous she looks.

From what I understood from reading spoilers a while back. The men of the royal family have some sort of weirdass thing where they don't give a fuck about anything till they meet their "fated maiden" who they love so much that they turn into god-tier rulers. The heroine is supposed to be Cecil's faited maiden and thus Tia is convinced that he won't be happy unless he ends up with her since she is supposed to be the only one who makes him feel true love and motivates him.

It kind of makes sense why she still thinks the heroine needs to be with the prince, because in the game the only thing that ever got through to him was the "charm magic" and as optimistic as she is, she just can't believe something as convenient as the prince finding true love and overcoming the curse on their own could happen and that this whole time he's still been keeping an emotional facade like when they first met

My girl Bertia looks amazing on that last few pages. Isn't it heartbreaking that she now looking somewhat like the Villainess she striving for, with head held high and with conviction to face her downfall.

And you can't really blame Bertia for sticking to her gun about the prince and the heroine
We look at it through the prince POW so we know that everything she did wasn't effective. To her, all her plans are going well. Her father is a criminal. All the side targets now with rival girls. The only thing left is for her to fall to complete the plot, so of course, she's determined in seeing it through.

And can I talk about that last page again? It's simply amazing. Seeing the prince all flustered and Bertia all calm and collected. it's a nice role reversal. One intended to fight fate and the other to fulfil it, all in the name of love for one another.

"It's the first time I feel hatred towards someone." I wonder if he's talking about Heronia, or he's mislabeling his feeling towards Bertia. If it's the latter, he's got it wrong; he's upset that the person he loves so much is actively sabotaging her own life and happiness for the sake of something that'll never happen. It's heartwarming to see the prince change and realize his own feelings, though.

@keytagnan it's been awhile so some things might be misremembered but
Light spoiler:
it has to do with his personality and him being interested in someone or else he might get too bored and potentially start a war or have other self-destructive tendencies. Bertia has already filled the role without realizing it, in the game it just happened to be the heroine so she thinks it has to be the heroine still.
More detailed spoiler:
His disinterest in things is in his blood, it's not every generation but there's been a few kings before him who were the same. They try to search for things that interest them and get obsessed to the point of self-ruin, like getting too invested in research and staying in their room or getting too into war tactics and just having continuos wars during their reign and stuff. I think there was a specific one, which might be the first king, who found a girl and was able to chill out, which connects to the game's story. Bertia believes the heroine to be the "chosen girl" (I forgot what it was actually called, but same concept) because in the game, in Cecil's route, the player saves him from his boredom and prevents his "ruin", which would be starting wars/having self-destructive tendencies. Which is why she's been pushing it toward the Cecil "good end", which would probably be the happiest ending for everyoneexcept her. So, not as exciting as a demon or anything, but still a not great ending. Just unfortunate that she's too caught up in the game's story that she doesn't realize that things are already different, which I guess is the norm with these stories lol

It's more than a bit messy, but if you're really interested and can't wait, I really recommend reading the novel! It's linked in the title page and had been completed already.

Edit: in the time it took me to type this, other people already answered with better responses, but it took too long to type this out and I feel like it somewhat fills in some blanks so I won't delete this lol

This manga is a work of art. Even with the spoilers from the novel and knowing what'll happen, it STILL takes you for a ride. It's amazing. ;__;

UGH there's that good RESOLVE... that LONGING... clenches my fist...

I have to admit I've become really fond of this imperfect-perfect-prince type.... having it all be from his perspective really does make it kind of refreshing.
