I think the bird is overwriting Cecil’s current memories with the memories of the Cecil in the otome game.
And the little boy crying at the end is the bird, and he’s crying bc he doesn’t like hurting people but he wants to protect the one he loves (Heronia) still dont like her whatsoever tho😒

Why people jumping into conclusions the bird is brainwashing or erasing Cecil mind, he is clearly conscious all the time and see a "what if" he would do if he did meet not isekaied Bertia.

Think Pii unintentionally even is showing how Bertia changed Cecil, from an emotionless "doll" he was to slowly compassionate person, don't think Pii know the Berita isn't what she is now and everything is basically how the game was originally supposed to play out, sort of watching a gameplay of someone who didn't pay attention to alternative routes not clear for a player.

Next chapter will probably be when Cecil be saved by Heronia, because the damage done by OG Bertia to already a teenager Cecil wouldn't be possible without some "brainwashing", because Cecil is really stubborn in his beliefs until it's already too late.
