is it just me who thinks heronia's smile here resembles our bertia's? in our timeline, heronia's smile is small and forced, but here it's super wide which I've seen on our bertia a lot. i feel like this could go down the "raeliana at the duke's mansion" route, where heronia was reincarnated into a Japanese girl before reincarnating in bertia. a soul switcheroo. i dunno, maybe i'm overthinking. but heronia's current soul is definitely not her own.

Nono, there was definitely light magic.
Page 35 really emphasizes the bird when hes talking about the hot feeling in his chest, it was definitely due to the magic.

Here's a different take, the original timeline featured a truly lovely otome protagonist, the light spirit thus didn't need to use his magic much if at all, mere using it to the extent that is reasonable such as soothing a distressed person or helping turn a awful day somewhat more bearable. In fact the main recipient of the light magic might have been Heroina herself, she was bullied a lot and yet never sought revenge or confrontation, this must have been stressful to her, the bird would have been the reason that Heroina came out still such a cheerful and friendly person after two years of bullying instead of becoming withdrawn and untrusting.

The other routes love interest could have been genuinely attracted to her, not brainwashed or addicted to the light magic. Remember that events were very different as an epidemic happened in the capital, even the friend of the king couldn't be shown favor towards in order to save his wife and crippled the athletic fiance of one of the capture targets. Who knows how many nobles died and how the interpersonal relations of the capture targets was affected, it was probably much more unstable then the one in the new timeline.

All of this isn't to say that the new timeline Heroina wasn't despicable and conceited, but rather that the previous timeline Heroine and the current timeline Heroina are two completely different people! The current Heroina is practically a egotistical and awful modern person that body snatched an innocent girl then proceeded to ruin her life!

For starters, Pii as Kuro is young spirit, they both act more like passive buff rather than conscious as Zeno is.

Secondly Cecil wasn't interacting with Bertia as much as he did in isekaied timeline, so there have to be little "brainwashing" as it took at least 4 years for prince to feel anything, he was emotionless android from the get go.

Since meddling of isekaied Bertia, Heronia had much higher difficulty in the real world, all the people were completely changed and so do events where she could interact with Cecil, which to be honest would be very frustrating so kinda no wonder isekaied Heronia acted furious.

Imagine re-playing a favourite game you mastered and suddenly everything going haywire not according to the script, something even isekaied Bertia is surprised to feel.

I'm not sure this "what if" Pii has shown will effect current Cecil, think he will snap out of this eventually, only wish it wouldn't effect isekaied Heronia, it's actually not her conscious fault Pii acted that way...

Both isekaied Heronia and Bertia should finally meet, Cecil knows she said several times about game mechanics names same as Bertia did, he isn't that dumb to not make connections...

It's very sad that Pii committed suicide for Heronia happiness, not knowing that Cecil already is not careless mannequin, only if both villainess and heroine interacted before this... :fml:

Thanks for the scanlation!

The OG Bertia was cute when plump too, a shame she was an asshole

So even in the main story, he sees his lover as an interesting toy at best? That's harsh, but not beyond the scope of his personality. Thanks for the scan and translation as always.
Yeah, it's crazy how much better our Bertia was for him, he started actually seeing her as a person and not as a toy because of how warm of a person she was

...If you wanna use cringe-worthy words, she literally melted some of his cold heart LOL

EDIT: Also, thinking about it, the bird might've actually influenced the new Heronia's personality, cause I refuse to believe someone would be that foolish. Maybe she was really a drug addict herself lol
