Seems like they might be equally crazy; he followed her after finding out (or assuming) she was going to get a confession, and as everyone pointed out - he had one hundred points for her.
Not to mention his family situation likely made him somewhat unhinged. I'm guessing this is a case of crazy wanting someone equally crazy to be able to handle her.

I'm not going to try, but it wouldn't surprise me if you could quickly google such a list, maybe only needing to adjust a few points, such as not complimenting a girl's sense of eyewear fashion if she never uses glasses.
