But I think that it needed more context before the whole incident, like in the other office romcom readers know that the main couple are hiding their relationship from the coworkers.
Here, it takes by surprise when the trash girl talks openly about dating the scum guy because the reader isn't aware that no one at the company seemingly know of his liason with FMC (and after dating so much time, they were together for 3 years).

It speedrun too much the beginning to setup the main couple imho

I've seen this exact same plot before,
The solution to that story was divorce so i really hope this story actually does it differently.
