Anyone notice in I forgot if it was this chapter or last one where she was one of the generals invading Earth... even though she was the one that called it home... she invaded it............ as if she never knew the place to begin with. Then proceeded to wonder why they were so distant from each other after she was likely the one destroying their house to begin with. -___-
Massive flaw with the chapter honestly. Why did she invade earth with the other aliens when she was against doing it to begin with. That's like moving to another country and then when that country wages war against your old home you're like "but my old friends are there... so yeah I'll destroy their country! But I still hope they can stay my friends though"
what we see here is her protesting the earth invasion plan, she is part of her planet's armed forces, but not a general. The chain of events that led her to participate in the invasion are unknown, we don't know if she deleted her memories before or after, but she stated she was against the war, the war was the opposite of her dreams. What I am imagining is that she participated in the invasion with the hopes of deserting on earth and at least go back to her friends, or something like that, from how future Nagisa described it.
I may be 3 years late to reply to this but like I had to say it after reading the comment, look at the panel of page 15 twice before commenting, it's her shouting to a long table in front of her, and someone else holding her back from the table, while the people on the table look down instead of making eye contact with Nagisa. It wasn't explicitly said but I could easily interpret that panel as, Nagisa who was assigned the leader of the earth diplomatic mission is shouting at the decision of her superiors to abandon diplomacy, as here future Nagisa is talking about how her dreams met reality destroying everything she worked for, and how she was not able to change reality.
