Shouldn't the first reaction people have to seeing an ancient power demonic sword be "hey, how the hell did this pawn get their hands on a war crime?" It's like if 2000 years from now someone showed up to school with a nuke and nobody said anything.

War crime? Or I guess you meant an ancient weapon of war. Then again, maybe people don’t learn this sort of thing in school. That, or the specifics aren’t clear, possibly through poor documentation of historical events? I dunno. In either case, they probably don’t know about a lot of things about the demons anyways, since they didn’t even know about the demon castle treasury. Assuming, anyways, since it was left untouched. Also possible that they were too wary to explore it, since lethal booby-traps and such weren’t out of the question, thus the caution tape. Maybe they’ve only recently made advances towards exploring it and mapping it out, since any maps that were available probably weren’t transcribed and decayed over time from negligence or something. Guessing so, since the MC said something about them attempting to excavate it or something along those lines.
Anyways, they probably just thought it was a weird fancy-looking sword. Since they have the concept of what a Chuunibyou is, even in a fantasy world, it isn’t out of the question for them to have cosplay or model swords made with real metals. Who even knows tho, lol. This is ALL just speculation and ranting, lmao.
Speaking of the sword, where did it even go in the last few panels/pages?? Just disappeared into oblivion, lmao.
