The only thing that bothers me is, who the hell is Kaede's father??? It's not Kanzaki, but we don't know anything else about who the mom would have had a kid with.
This really reads like a one-shot, probably since the idea was initially meant for that format. Because of that, I'd say the plot was fairly predictable and the characters could use further padding or fleshing out, but I like how it has the directness of a one-shot I conveying the messages that it envelops.
Especially the part where Momoko tried to give Haru a present, that destroyed my heart but gave me some hope and warmth.
I could really see some wilder girls IRL to have bigger motherly love than the smarter/reserved one.
But yeah, although I did remember back then I feel that this manga was rushed but reading it for the 3rd time really thinks that this kind of story are better shorter.
The word "heartful" is not Wasei-eigo. Author's just tweaking.
Also whoever thought this would have oneshota inseki in the end, you'd have to have brain damage when it literally shows why IRL children can't really consent due to power dynamics and other shit.
And to those who say "but he is growing up fatherless" and about Momoko's grades, ultimately the story ends off in a better position when it started. And sometimes bio parents aren't always the best for some kids.
