She was likely a TWIST Big Bad ("Either turned evil later in the story against her will", or "I was the Villain ALL ALONG" type) Ten to one he does something that BREAKS the link of event flags that are SUPPOSE to "mandatorily" happen for the sake of her being the final boss! Causing her to get "Free will" from the plot or change her thoughts that cause her to take a different path (AKA "Falling for him" as an example) which COULD potentially derail the plot.....unless he somehow turns the DLC SUPERBOSS into the new Final Boss (as shown with the Assassin girls, the first one was suppose to be a DLC gained ally, while the other girl if I remember was suppose to "die for the sake of DLC girl having a TRAGIC backstory! So best to go on the thought that EVERYTHING associated with the game is happening, including the DLC/Patch add-ons)

Ten to one Childhood friend was suppose to "exit stage left" at a point in the story that leads to the Heroin and Hero getting together (The Losing Childhood Friend). It's like in Tsuyokute New Saga where due to going back in time and PREVENTING his tragic backstory! MC Kyle assured his childhood friend Liese didn't die, which gets in the way of his "romance" with his OG timeline wife Urza (In the Novel they do get back together, in the Manga/Anime though, she's friendzoned) so I think this is what is happening in the story due to MC actions! (At least she gets to be the VICTOROUS childhood friend now LOL)

Maybe it's because of the age gap. In manga and anime, girls usually only become a tsundere if the love interest is around her age while if he's older she will usually become very upfront or become shy but still trying to get closer
