Well that got messy...loved the little teases of Spin and the cleverness of Paco tearing off one of the walls of the elevator to fold as a shield around himself. It looks like the banker killed by the lava rock / stray bullet is another Joshu fakeout just like Chapter 11. What is Araki cooking up with these pseudo-Joshus?

i'm dying for more lulu lore. how did an orphan end up working at howler and what happened to her parents?? did howler whack her parents and employ her instead of killing her too??

also very interesting that paco is ex-military, wonder if that's why he eventually got shredded lol
lulu is probably a rock human, though my guess is based on circumstantial evidence
1. she has no parents, either they died early or of old age and lulu outlived them
2. she talks about how all humans will eventually die, which is likely related to her parents but it's weird she says "all humans" instead of "everyone"
3. this is araki we're talking about, there's no way we have a child stand user who is just a kid with a tragic past there has to be more to it

Hol "New" Horse really out here giving a parental breakdown. Hope Lulu does find a family.

It's wild how Part 9 , so far, really is a story of a bunch a crooks. Like the protagonists and the antagonists are all dodgy.

Really? U can't see why an assassin working for a greedy company could really use a stand like that?
Seeing as the targets survived by using the ingenious technique of "moving so the bullets don't hit anything vital" not really no

Its the kind of stand that would be very effective for assassinating non-stand users who can't see the bullets. Most of the people getting in the way of Howler Corporation's shady business in Hawaii aren't going to be all stand users like this group.

Yeah but they knew they were stand users before they entered the hospital. Also we saw Bobby screw on the silencer, so unless the gimmick is that his gun stand has different accessories I doubt the gun is actually the stand. Which still raises the question: why would you actively slow down the bullets in a stand fight, and why would you do it twice after the first time failed.
(Also while rereading I noticed as Lulu and Bobby exit the elevator she is holding his right hand, but the next page she is holding his left.)

Is it just me, or does it feel like the team is getting ripped to fucking pieces and brutally wounded every other chapter?
well that's why each chapter needs a healing stand, haha.

okay but why use a stand to slow down the bullets
1. Slowing down the bullets is very effective at surprising your enemy; you’d think that making the bullets slower would make them easier to dodge, but when you don’t understand what’s going on and you see bullets that are practically frozen in the air, you are so shocked you don’t have time to react when the bullets go full speed again (the end of the last chapter as an example)
2. Slowing down the bullets actually damages the enemy more; as shown in this chapter, Bobby Jean can slow down the bullets while they’re lodging themselves into their targets, which causes more pain as the targets can feel the bullets slowly drilling into their skin and it also will tear into their flesh more than a bullet at regular speed would do.

Those are all the positives I could think of, but there are probably more.

How do you get fucking Discharged at 19? You have to be 18 to sign up for the military, Basic takes YEARS so he didn't fucking wash out of Basic like most do, he somehow found a way to get discharged during Basic Training

Paco literally heard gunshots both times
Only Paco heard it. If you look back at the previous chapter everyone else was confused and the people in the waiting room are completely undisturbed. My guess is the slowed down bullet coming out of the silencer was so abnormally quiet (compared to a silenced gun which is still relatively loud) that only the ex-military character could recognize what the sound was.

But I reread the end of this chapter and it looks like banker pseudo-Joshu could see the bullet so they are not invisible to non-stand users as I assumed in my previous comment. Still stealthy and a very effective surprise tactic for those who aren't expecting bullets to accelerate and decelerate in motion as mentioned above. Both Bobby Jean and Lulu have close to 100% success rate with their stands in the past, so the particular use of Glory Days in this chapter comes from overconfidence and underestimating their enemy.

In this case it's for stealth purposes. He could have just shot them normally if he wanted them dead but in this case the delay allows for making attacks without much if any noise, and also allows for laying traps with delayed shooting like what Paco suffers near the end of the chapter.
