At first, I was afraid that the daughter was just a figment of his imagination. But knowing that she's real I can't help but wonder what it must've been like living with a drunkard father for some time.

Danny is pretty okay guy for leading people back into the straight and narrow.

(¦|[} WARNING! THIS MESSAGE ISNT ABOUT THE CHAPTER OR SERIES, I AM JUST RANTING ABOUT MY FAVORITE TYPE OF CHARACTER! {]|¦)

(]¦[ SUMMARY AT THE BOTTOM ]¦[)

You know, i think most drama stories should have a "Joker"
Someone thats unpredictable and really powerful, maybe even the strongest, doing whatever they want whenever they want with no shame
Sometimes they are the MC
Sometimes the antagonist
Sometimes a side character
An unpredictable factor in a story is important to keep it interesting, even more so if its a story structure thats overused like isekai fantasy harem
If you can predict where the story will go then its boring, it should have you wanting to know what happens next for each chapter
"What did they see?" "Whose blood was that?" "Are they ok?" "Who will win? " "Will they finally confess?"
Thoughts like these along with personal attachment to each character keeps the story interesting

Imagine reading a fantasy harem isekai
Someone in MCs harem gets ill and MC has to go get a cure, the easiest one to get is a magic stone(marble) in a medium difficulty dungeon dropped by the boss every 10 years, luckily for MC now is the right time goes to defeat the boss, everything is smooth sailing, the MC confronts the Boss and fights hard for an hour and only got it down to half health and then Suddenly
"The JOKER" appears!
the joker oblitorates the boss and the boss drops the marble and a good item
Ofcourse the joker didnt come for the item which anyone else would come for but he came for the very same marble as the MC
The MC begs the joker to let him have the marble "please Joker, please i need that to save my companion from an illness", the joker ofcourse refuses saying that "i started collecting the magic marbles of every monster 3 months ago and this is the last one, i honestly dont want to wait 10 years to complete my collection" the joker looks a bit troubled "i'll tell you what, since you did half the job then i'll let you have the item, i have no use for it anyways" the joker said before vanishing into thin air
The MC with his new item takes a while to take what just happened in before going back to his harem
The smart girl of his harem tells him there is another cure, a dark crimson flower with two heads but it is much harder to find and it is on the wyvern mountain
The MC, the rightous and caring person he is of course does not hesitate to go there to get the flower
He risks his life on the mountain hiding from several wyverns that at the moment are too high of a level for him
He finds the flower and a big egg together and as he is dense when convenient to plot he takes both with him
As he is halfway down the mountain with the egg and flower he is attacked by a wyvern and barely makes it out with his life, luckily he used the item to protect himself from the wyvern and fends it off
He makes it back to his harem and cures the girl and they find oit the egg is a wyvern egg which they ofcourse hatch and keep

THE END

in this "story" i feel that since there were more options for the MC regarding the cure it feels more realistic and alive rather than only a single cure to the illness and then directly onto the hard quest
The MC gains both a moral boost for beating the harder quest and a stat/physical boost because of the dungeon and bossfight
He also gains new equipment and the marble quest doesnt seem useless as the MC survived the hard quest due to the item

I think that these kinds of joker characters, total wild cards
Are very important to some stories
The joker could be a friend, ally, stranger or enemy
But you shouldnt make them evil, they should be portrayed as a bored immortal, someone so immensely powerful that nobody can control them but not arrogant and narcissistic
They should be selfish and shameless but know when its too far, someone there to keep reminding you that you arent as strong as you think you are

Like maybe someone cool and with few facial expressions and a love for research

Or maybe someone with a young appearance and a super carefree and down to earth personality, you know, the kind of person to party and be super friendly, the super extrovert

Or maybe the violent battle junky with sharp eyes and a slim but muscular build

Or maybe the eyes always closed cunning fox that schemes alot and has incredible charisma and amazimg senses

Or maybe the emotionless robot that wants understand feelings but is enslaved by someone to do their bidding

Or maybe the naive and innocent childlike person with no idea what is right or wrong but only looks for fun, whether it be by murder or by playing chess

I think that a JOKER is fun and interesting
But mysterious
"How did they get so strong?" "What is their true goal?" "Do they even have a goal?" "I wonder if they are lonely" "How old are they?" "Where did they come from?"
Mystery keeps things interesting
Anyway i should finish this super long rant so uhm

I think unpredictable and powerful characters like a Joker can help some stories alot because right now there are so many similar stories
Although i myself am not a writer as you may have guessed i think that when writing a story if you make a joker you give your MC more options and the story more life, you dont even have to have every encounter with the joker be relevant to the plot, basicaly write as if the joker is a bored Immortal "hmm what do i want to do today... OH i know! Lets collect a copy of every book" or "lets just travel the world, maybe kill a few dragons if i feel like it"
I think these kinds of characters are fun and arent done enough, someone who at any moment could anihilate Half the planet if he felt like it

Someone who despite having so much power...

Is simply...

Just...

bored...

(][} I SPENT LIKE, AN HOUR WRITING THIS HORRIBLE RANT, IM SO SORRY, THANK YOU FOR READING THIS NIGHTMARE TO THE END, I HOPE YOU HAVE A NICE DAY {][)

{¦}ofcourse assuming you didnt just skip to the Summary, not judging{¦}
