If someone showed me page 3 of chapter 1 and told me, "You will cry and give this manga a 10/10," I would call them a liar... I would also be wrong; this manga is incredible.
The characters in this manga are simple, complex, and inspiring, to say the least. Sensei is a stalwart teacher, determined to do and be the best he can for his beloved students, even if it doesn't make sense or is disagreeable. He is the responsible adult that many students need but may never get, and that is reflected by the three students the story focuses in on: Amajiki, Kokonoe, and Tsutsugou. Each girl has their own quirks, and each quirk has a past that comes with it. The relationship between Sensei and each character is different, but the respect and care given to each one is equal.
The story at first is relatively light and simple; a teacher must respect his female students and help them grow up while overcoming any obstacles in their way. This leads to hijinks, as they are teenage girls interested in him as a man. This lighthearted attitude slowly gives way to a darker story full of trauma and tragedy, of which lingered in the story from early on though unnoticed, around chapter 11. This heaviness only grows over time, and I love it. This overbearing depth led to the author wrapping up the story, so keep that in mind.
10/10 I HIGHLY recommend reading this. Is it perfect? No. Even so, I enjoyed it so much that I refuse to give it less than a 10 as of this time. The art is fantastic, the story is incredible, and the ending brings a smile to my face. It is worth reading, and I know I will one day reread this again. I just hope I enjoy it as much then as I do now.
