This guy called it. I guess it was kinda obvious once they said they come in different shapes.

This kinda feels like a convoluted plot tbh, anything to get strong dudes fighting each other. It's a shame the obvious HxH inspiration doesn't extend to plot quality.

I suppose that's why we haven't seen the main crew really deal with cursed spirits yet, the connection seemed obvious enough before now but it slipped my mind that conflict could spring up from the difference in treatment... wonder if Mahito would wanna show up to stoke the flames a bit more or if he's purely waiting for Yuji to show his face

especially curious as to how the main 4 will reconcile this difference, they've found similarities and connections on plenty up to this point but this seems like such a hurdle to tackle on the surface
