I still think the stories are happening too "fast" though. Twice now, the message has been "if something is weird, leave" but it's always been too late, as she adds. The moment the peeps in the story notice the problem, they're dead in seconds. The inevitable bloodbath has no time to build up.

maybe the first story that was summoned was her, and all the chapters we read so far are somewhat her curse which kinda makes the book her curse as well?

The first chapter said the monks tried to exorcise it, and they all died, so presumably they burned a page which caused their deaths.

Yeah, as the other commenters are pointing out, she's probably the ghost they tried to exorcise. Because, not only is she talking to us directly, it did seem kinda strange that she appeared to be stuck behind the talisman ropes in the first chapter. It may very well be that she's counting on the book to be cursed enough to let her out.

In the first chapter, she points to the sacred rope and says "in exchange for this exorcism, the rope-..." just before the monk dies — seems obvious that she wanted him to cut the rope as the price for destroying the book
It also explains why shes so happy at seeing the talismans falling, its a step closer to her being free

It's gonna end in 99th story again. Why calls it 100 ghost story, but ends in 99th. The most recent one i read 100 Ghost Stories that Lead to My Dead also ended in 99, but the last chapter could vaguely counted as pseudo 100th story.
