Oh they messed up, the wife is a schemer herself so she was not the right target to get to Tatepon

Just going to the guy himself and showing him the fact that they got the Monk would have been enough, Tatepon would have crumbled and confessed to everything

I'm still doubtful that it is his child. More than that, this series gives me the Breaking Bad vibe from its setting. I wouldn't doubt if the author is inspired by Breaking Bad. Tateo is the opposite of White, financially stable, but he also feel he's lacking "as a man", feeling powerless. They both discovered a way to make themselves feel "empowered", but it is leading them to their downfall.
