I like where this seems to be going, a revenge thriller. Tateo's fairly jarring personality change from nebbish, incompetent at life to a take charge kind of guy who knows what he's doing in this chapter doesn't feel realistic. He'd been written quite well, so pitiful it was hard to like him, till now.

I totally get what you mean, but for me, Tateo has always had both of those personalities. I mean back in Chapter 4, he was taking charge by wanting to make the drugs to make his life better. He just chose the wrong string of people to help him with it. Basically, he's trying to chase the feeling he first got when he took the ED pills because that's the first time he ever felt that way. I think he's just a pretty gullible guy and feeds off others' emotions. Sorry if this is jumbled, I keep having to stop and rewrite cause I don't want to spoil any of the story further.

I know this sounds weird, but I've heard changes like that actually happens when your ED gets cured. I assume even his temporary cure has influenced his mentality.

Very good point! Exactly like Walter in Breaking Bad. Everyone who said this is BB after the first chapter may well be correct. BB developed Walter's transition more gradually. This would've been better (or at least more realistic) if they had also taken more time.

It isn't personality shift at all. Tateo is immature and impulsive. He does assume the best in people, so much so that he is selflessly and idiotically nice (just giving up his name for no reason when he is doing illegal stuff). However that also applies to people who have betrayed him. Once he identifies you as an enemy, he will try to selflessly destroy you. He probably has never had anybody close enough to him to truly betray him until this time, because of his self-doubt and physical un-atractiveness.

I like this new "sort of" romance that is blooming between the masseuse and Tate-pon. Maybe this is the beginning of an authentic relationship?... or maybe not, since of course he's not being 100% sincere. I am interested in this revenge of sorts he's taking... whether he will try to clean up his name or just continue down the path of crime and destruction.
