Nah, she still is a plot device. And one I quite dislike already. MC had to go through a "if you fail you die" training to get the black eyes thingy power, and she manages to do it right away with no idea of what to do.
And the whole discourse of killing and losing your humanity makes no sense at all. If someone is trying to kill me, I try to reason with them, it doesn't work, clinging for your life is not wrong in a nature way nor in a moral way. Self defense has been part of humanity for so long, and it still aplies for today
MC trying his best to not kill her, his body/instinct realised it won't work, and kills her. How does that make him not human anymore? Isn't it human to hurt and regret?
