So, it's a cliffhanger ending? The author hasn't continued yet
By no means. This title has gone on and off hiatus several times since the last chapter I uploaded. I was doing this because I thought Japanese publishers “tolerated” scanlation, realizing that by allowing it to exist they could get more licencing deals since titles picked up for one are almost always popular scanlations but they've spoken with their takedown that they don't want it any more. The story has been continuing and it has honestly been great so I might as well just write down what happened thus far here:
- A timeskip has occurred, Maximilian has cast aside the revolution and is happily living with Fran and believes that they are fated lifemates, also, he has a far better haircut now so that's nice. Louis XIV is still running the country and has eliminated many issues.
- Louis XVI has appointed a sibling to become the next king of France instead of Marie-Antoinette's children, knowing that they are not his and that the blood of his family producing alpha primes is essential to the country, a chapter dealt with this character's insecurities around having to live up to Louis XIV's legacy of perfect stage management into finally realizing that the rumors of his being ugly are false and that even his face is perfect embodied, breaking down from it.
- Fran is increasingly in doubt as to that Maximilian is his fated lifemate and despite not having seen Louis XVI in many years can't stop thinking about him.
- The doctor doing blood tests on both of them also is starting to realize Fran and Maximilian are not fated lifemates.
- Fran is starting to share dreams with Louis XIV wherein they talk to each other and both remember, both believing that they are mere dreams not realizing the other remembers it too.
- The bitemark on Fran's neck from Maximilian has started to fade for whatever reason.
- Saint Juste is still working on the alpha plan now but living somewhere else and really misses Maximilian
I still think this is the best title in
Cheese! by far, especially because the magazine has kind of gotten a lot worse to be honest. About anything magazine by
Flower comics has changed direction a bit I feel. It's all gotten a lot less darker and less sexier I feel. Well,
Mobile Flower got darker and less sexier I guess. But most of the current serializations in
Cheese! feel so episodic and about nothing and the few titles that are not episodic still feel episodic because it feels like the artist is just making it up as it goes along. I think this is the oldest title still running in
Cheese! as well and it also got considerably less sexier. Last chapter had one sex scene but you didn't see anything and no other title in that issue otherwise had any sex scenes.
