Well, this chapter proves that even pulpy, basic narratives like this can spark good ideas. The "flashback denial", while not exactly new, is still an underutilized literary device; it's a good seed that I hope will flourish in better mangas and stories.
It's unfortunate still; in my opinion Juujika no Rokunin has many bright ideas and intentions that get almost completely wasted.

I really thought the guy would exploit the guilt of the girl for feeling jealous and hating her sister, that way we would hate him more. But that would be getting too close to good writing, so of course it didn't happen.

The flashback slap was funny though, at least the author is clear they only focus on the torture porn.

I really love that this author doesn't try to humanize irredeemable scum. Too many revenge story authors try to pointlessly cram in a sad backstory at the last minute as if to say "Oh right, revenge is bad, better try to force some conflicting feelings on the reader". Mad respect for an author who knows when writing monsters you make them worse, not better.
