No kidding.

The series had a strong start, but then the author just had to pile bullshit on bullshit to drag out the story.

All the interesting characters have been shuffled out of the limelight or killed off. Kaname got shuffled off. Gramps by en large got removed from the story after the fire. Inspector "I'll show you what real justice is" Anzai was unceremoniously offed. And with all the main villains except Shigoku now dead, the series the series has devolved into Uruma trying to get out of Shigoku's latest asspull.

As you say, the author lost the plot when Madoka got away with raping Kaname. The story would have been so much better if the little moron would have gotten arrested for that - it would have given Anzai a more meaningful role in the story, Shigoku's sick little cat-and-mouse game would have been disrupted, and both Shigoku and Uruma would have been forced to get creative.

But what did we get? Each bully gets even more over the top than the previous one, while the police is now flat-out useless and all the adults except for grampa war criminal won't lift a finger. Kuga rapes or mauls everyone in the judo club and nobody bats an eye. Shigoku is running a fucking cult. What's next - secret government agencies?

...and then to think that we're not even halfway through the series right now. I'm guessing that Shigoku will just be saved by asspull upon asspull and that there won't be any resolution anytime soon?
