One thing I thought was a little subtle but which I loved, is how when she grabs the flame at that part, it makes the same sound effect that she described it as the first time she did magic.

I don't think so. All she needed (a different perspective on the nature of magic and a sufficient image) she already had. She just had to take a final step to consciously apply them. I actually do like this, because it's not some McGuffin boosting her but the application of what she has learned and gained on her journey so far.
And we have skipped almost an entire week of grueling training under one of the strongest beings on the planet. ^^
