I already dropped my chapter based comment, but I think people are a bit too worked up about the latest chapter (chapter 4). I recommend to read all the chapters carefully and form your own opinion. It’s a work of fiction and shoujo. If I want to be really vaque without spoiling anything: There’s so many hints how the ML has probably misunderstood something.

People getting worked up with the kiss, but I think they’ve either started to date when she was drunk (we didn’t see the whole trip to home) or the chief has misunderstood something from that night. Ofc it’s a tad too dramatic and it’s not ok to force anyone to kiss, but it’s still a work of fiction. All the clues in previous and this chapter hint that the chief somehow thinks they’re dating. Relax. I hope we’ll get our answer in the next chapter.
