Kämpfer - Vol. 10 Ch. 56

Ok so time for a ramble. The ending of "Kämpfer" felt pretty bland to say the least. Obviously it was a very rushed ending, with my biggest issue being the weird side-quest to the dads house for no real reason. Kinda felt a bit like the casino trip in "The Last Jedi" which is most decidedly NOT a good thing. That just my personal biggest issue that really annoyed me for some reason but there are tons of other flaws as well.
The moderators, the weird statue thing, everything to do with Sakura, the eyes, the fact that it actually WAS aliens after all, absolutely nothing felt like it got a satisfying reason for existing, let alone having a proper conclusion! And then it just ends.
JUST ENDS!!
I mean hell, they barely devoted a couple of panels to the ending! Not even a chapter! Honestly I could feel this coming a dozen or so chapters back. I felt the pace pick up and knew this kind of ending was coming but I cannot deny it is still very disappointing. This manga had so much potential. Good art and an actually intriguing story for the first few volumes. I would still put those as some of the best Gender-swap material we have ever gotten. But its a sinking ship after that. I assume that the LN probably expands more on a lot of the lore being a novel and all, but for what the manga's worth this is a confusing, poorly written ending which explains NOTHING.
So what is the final verdict from me (if anyone would even care about that lol) gonna be? The only good thing about this ending is that our MC actually DOES CHOOSE A GIRL. This already puts it above many other manga of this nature. Aside from that its really enjoyable for its earlier volumes like I said, but the last few are just a chore to read. The anime is infinitely better in just about every way and ends right before the story in this adaptation goes downhill (with some slight modifications). To sum it up the first few volumes get a 7-8 while the later few get a 3. Enjoy the beginning, don't bother staying for the end, its a chore and will disappoint.

It’s satisfying ending although it was rushed. At least they explained the plot holes at the end.
