These RomCom trope were already cliché when Love Hina was adapted into an anime decade ago, this manga was not made before these trope.
And this author's work check dozen of different shitty RomCom trope, like the total random BS pulled one after the other to prevent any kind of progress. They have been aware of their feeling for what, a 100 chapter? Literaly nothing happened, the two act like retard refusing to acknowledge that they love each other, when the two know for a fact that the other love them...

If you don’t like it, then stop reading. I love this series and I love where it’s at. You don’t really understand how rare it is in modern times eh? Well since love Hina things have changed a lot. You can’t go 13 chapters without adding another girl in modern rom coms.

There are so few exceptions, and I know you don’t realize it because you don’t like this, but this is a shining gem in the darkness

I don't know about you, but I'm fine with this. Ironically it's way less frustrating than a series like Anjou where the MC has been dating her for years now but there is somehow even less progress.

I'm not fine with this. And Anjou is peak romance progression, idk what you're on about. Also they have been datiing for a short amount of time, don't just pull stuff out of your ass. You must be hella confused if you think real life chapter release duration equals time passed within the series.

My man Seto has had some of the most admirable character progression/development out of any romance MC I've ever come across. The guy went from 'Oh god I can see her nape, I'm gonan die' to 'I will now kiss you' from the start of the series until recent chapters - (not quite) literal virgin to chad transformation.

What do you mean "before all the harem nonsense"? I don't remember there being a "before" and I've been reading various manga for over 15 years now. There have always been some rom-com manga with harem plots and others without them

I can pinpoint it, it was Covid. It used to be the norm in every Romcom to have a Cast of Characters. Best friends, brothers, sisters, classmates, antagonists, teachers, everyone used to be a character and that would lead to Love Triangles, but what makes a Modern Day RomCom is everyone but the MC and the Love interest becoming faceless background characters or not even existing.

The only characters who will be introduced in a Modern RomCom are Love interests of the opposite sex, and they will be added every 11-13 chapters. That's the Formula I've derived over 100's of Romance Manga's since Covid Hit. Even the concept of two characters falling out of love is gone, because there are no other Male characters ever introduced in modern RomComs you basically just have the MC and only the MC and no one will ever fall out of love with them... ever...

And the weirdest thing is, Modern MC's are almost always nothing characters with no personality. Just short black hair, a sheen of kindness but basically a blank slate. Gone are the days of perverted MC's, he's not sneaking into the girls locker room, he accidently gets pushed into there for a lucky pervert moment but a Modern MC would never do that on purpose.

Bring back diverse casts of characters so instead of Harems you get actual Love triangles instead of two dogs fighting over a bone you desperately want.
