Yea the girl did beat an instructor, and? Does that magically give her authority in the school?
The teacher is also just a teacher, just because she saw someone with promise does not mean other teacher have to agree.

Your answer to my example doesn't solve the underlying issue: That the MC would be reward despite NOT FOLLOWING THE RULE.
Like, why are you making up random reasons to make him pass, when in the earlier chapter it was ALREADY ESTABLISHED that they judge BASED ON THE FOOTAGE?

Also note that the whole defeating people? THAT IS NOT THE CRITERIA. It's the MC himself who think that way. The instructor only say for them to have a battle royale.

At least the girl that may or may not be the fl actually seems to be a good person. Kudos to that, you don't really see that in these types of OP "normal" MC type of manga. Usually it's a tsundere. I kinda wish they could just remain friends since they already seem to have chemistry (and you don't see a lot of male-female friendship in manga). Low chances of that happening tho...

@WhimsiCat The whole point of this exam is for them to show their skill. The footage is just a convenient way of observing their talents. The criteria for passing is skill/talent. Then again, that fighting instructor said that whoever defeats her may pass, which clearly means that it is enough to prove one's worth(beating a combat-oriented teacher does mean you are plenty skilled).
Also, i never said they should trust the words of a girl alone, they should trust the words of the teacher, which are backed by girl's words.
Say, what happens if someone by some strange coincidences is never caught by cameras( for whatever reason, maybe participant is an old-school vampire), but the other saw him fighting? How such a contradiction should be solved? They either investigate it, agree that a teacher is a liar or simply dismiss it(that's incompetence). The fact is we have no footage but we have people who witnessed him. In the end, the thing is judges don't have evidence that he wasn't fighting there, but they do have reports of him being there and accomplishing something that shows his skill. Normally, it should have caused an interesting precedent which would warrant some changes to the existing rules, but we have what we have.

And by the time the teacher realize, the result has already been announced (because again, she didn't realize he avoid the mirrors)
At this point it's too late to go back and change the result.

Why is it you're simping for MC to pass harder than MC himself who wanted to fail? Making up reasons for the school to go out of its way/break its own rules to make him pass?

@WhimsiCat I don't really care if mc passed or not(actually i was hoping he would enroll on a common course), i just tried to tell that if teachers had had more motivation and reasoning, they would have proven him passing the exam, there were enough means to do so. Them just brushing off all the evidence and instructor's words was strange, that's my point, nothing more, nothing less.

@GrayBypasser : More likely it's a case of they've already announced the result so they can't just go back on it now, and the MC can fix the cause of his failure (not showing himself on mirror) next year if he want to change that (the teacher did imply there's a method to move him to hero course, but it'll be next year)
