It looked like the girl pestering him to join an event had a reaction to him joining the sledgehammer event our Protags just removed a bomb from.

Maybe it's look like Vallen is a bad guy since he have that personalities. But it doesn't look like he some kind of bully either. So I can't see him as a real bad guy.
Oops I had typoed my line, it should have been "This is so obviously trying to setup that Vallen as the bad guy when he won't be."

But yeah that's what I mean, they are making him look like a bad guy to do the twist that it ain't the assholey person who's the big bad.

Ok, finished reading this series. Now, there is a big BIG problem: MC should have been the one to defeat the DEMON KING, the one even the hero failed to defeat, yet he was defeated easily by 02, he has problems dealing with more than one opponent and even this guy from the student council seems on par with him (and we know that the hero was the STRONGEST among the students, yet he lost so badly against a single demon, not even the king).

Now, some people may reply that he's more skilled in stealth and assassination. As you know, the Demon King wasn't defeated by underhanded tactics since he himself said "I'm happy to be defeated by you" and surely the strongest demon wouldn't be defeated by assassins. That's also why I don't understand the organization: if they had so much power, why sending only him, instead of all the numbers, even 02 + 28, as they are the perfect combo: he's a support, she's a dealer.

Some clarifications:
(1) Tweight didn't defeat the Demon King directly; the demon he defeated in the first chapter was the demon in charge of safeguarding the Demon King's heart. Since the fight between Tweight and said demon isn't shown, we have no concrete evidence for how Tweight fought that demon, though it seems to be implied that he used his usual assassination/sniping tactics, as the demon doesn't thank Tweight for giving a good fight, instead, the demon simply thanks Tweight for being the one to kill him.

Quote from Chapter 1 of the manga:
Tweight: So if I destroy this, the Demon Lord will die...right, demon?
Demon: (coughs)...that's right.
Tweight: So this is...the Demon Lord's heart.
Demon: (chuckles) I had always thought myself that...if there's any human that would kill me, it wouldn't be some hero, but someone like you.
Tweight: ...The Hero has the big role to defeat the Demon Lord.
Demon: The Demon Lord of this generation is weak...I'm sure you're fully aware of that fact. And to have had a hard fight with such a Demon Lord, there's no way the Hero would be able to defeat me.
Tweight: ...
Demon: I bid you farewell, hero that lurks in the shadow. I feel honoured to have been killed by you, and not the Hero.

(2) The hero isn't necessarily the strongest among the students (I don't think he even is a student, in the sense that he went to/ attends the school); he's simply the chosen one. The whole reason for the Organization's creation was because they knew that the hero was weaker than he should be.

As for why Tweight struggled in his fight against 02, I can think of 2 major factors:

(1) The Environmental Advantage
Seeing as how Tweight specializes in more underhanded methods of fighting, Chris and 02 used the magic, <Extremism>, to remove the advantages of the craggy terrain (which would have provided cover for Tweight), making it so that Tweight would have to fight head-on, while 02 enjoys the benefits of fighting in an environment she can take better advantage of. If you play Smash, it could be likened to 02 being better at fighting in stages like Final Destination, while Tweight does better in stages like Hyrule Temple.

(2) Tweight's Condition
Before the fight against 02, Tweight had fought through numerous battles against other agents without properly being able to recover from those fights, as it's mentioned that Tweight and Mize rarely got chances to have proper sleep during their elopement. In comparison, 02 didn't have to fight a gauntlet of foes before facing Tweight, so she was able to reserve her strength for the fight.

Quote from the Web Novel (Chapter 5):
(Tweight's thoughts after the fight)
I fought this battle at my utmost limits, lacking even proper sleep. It’s undeniable that I fought in my worst condition, but such an excuse is pointless in an actual battle. Managing one’s condition is also a part of battle.

(Extra) Some parts from the Web Novel translation that may help explain how bad the match-up was for Tweight:

(02 explaining why she could beat Tweight)
“28 may be the strongest, but he isn’t all-purpose.”

The knight’s eyes widen at Oz’s statement.

“28’s real worth is seen in assassinations and ambushing. In a head-to-head battle, I’m stronger…Each member of the Organization specializes in their own fields. As for the curriculum, let’s see…there’s assassination, kidnapping, espionage, escorting, torture, and assault, I think. And my specialty as an agent is in assault. In these conditions, I’m better--”

(Tweight's Monologue during the fight against 02)
No matter how much one struggles, there will always be some things that they are unsuited for.

I had continued to hone my techniques in assassination and ambushing, whereas Oz had continued to hone her techniques in assault. It would be difficult to overturn that difference in the last minute.

The truth is, I don't stand a chance in a one-on-one fight like this.

What I am doing now is nothing more than putting up a futile resistance.

Final thoughts:
As for the final point about why the Organization didn't send everyone, or even 02 to back up Tweight, it could be attributed to the fact that Tweight does his job (sniping) better alone.

Quote from the Web Novel (Chapter 44):
“…Come to think of it, Mize, you don’t know my original fighting style.” (Tweight)

I notice that there seems to be a discrepancy in our perceptions of each other.

In front of Mize, who tilts her head, I let my magic power flow into the black bracelet on my left wrist.

A jet-black [Sniper Wand] appears in my hand.

... (Omitted for brevity)

As soon as I give a brief explanation, I plant my right knee on the ground and point the toe of my left foot in the direction of the Ogres.

I look through the [Far-sighted Crystal] installed on top of the wand and find my targets: 3 Ogres.

“When I said that you don’t have to do anything, I didn’t mean that you were just a burden.” (Tweight)

... (Omitted for brevity)

“It’s just that…I don’t really need help.” (Tweight)

After taking a breath to prepare, I pull the trigger.

I activate my greatest specialty, the long-range shooting magic <Snipe>.

Besides, the other agents, including 02, could have been sent on other duties at that point in time, such as causing a diversion that Tweight could have taken advantage to kill the demon that guarded the Demon King's heart.

Again, we aren't given the fine details of the battle, so all we can do is speculate based on what we are told.

Ending statement:
That was longer than I thought it would be, but I hope it can help explain some aspects of the story (as I understood it). Sorry if the formatting makes it hard to understand.

TL;DR:
1.) Tweight DOES specialize in assassinations and ambushes (and sniping in particular), though he can hold his own in a regular fight. 02, on the other hand, specializes in assault, or direct combat, which their fight consisted of.

2.) He didn't fight the Demon King personally; he defeated a demon that was stronger than the Demon King. The fight wasn't shown, and it is implied that he used his specialization in sniping to do so. (While the demon was dying, he had his sniper rifle on hand, and he was generally unscathed)

3.) In addition to the poor match-up against 02 in a direct fight, he was fighting in an environment that wasn't ideal for him and his condition wasn't great either, which resulted in his loss.

4.) They probably only sent him, since he doesn't need any support to do what he does (sniping). The other members of the Organization have other specialities, so they were probably deployed to areas that made use of those specialities.

This is so obviously trying to setup that Vallen is the bad guy when he won't be. Probably trying to disarm/find the bombs himself.
The war hero with a yankee attitude who already beat up a bunch of Empire goons? There's so no fucking way he's the villain it would be a legitimate twist if he actually was.

Even if he's a pompous ass, Vallen probably isn't the traitor...probably, but still possible it is! I believe the clue is about one of those students dying! The blonde girl, from the council, is determined to implement the values that person had, so she probably also is not the traitor! The last guy, the president of the student council and the 3rd participant in the war, we still didn't get to now! So both guys are the possible traitor! My guess would be the death of their comrade made one of them take a "misguided" path! "We sacrifice so much, but you privileged snobs get to live in peace, and still quarrel among yourselves, disparaging the "commoners" etc. etc.." or something like that, you know those types of "villains, but think he's doing good" shounen manga are full of :pepehmm:
