As expected of Cid. He could have stopped the injection, but naturally he allowed it, so that he could fight the awakened Akane. It wasn't much of a fight, but it allowed him to throw a couple of one-liners and make a cool pose, which is just as good as a decent fight.

I feel yeah since I also read up to chapter 200 of the wn, but yeah, things sort of changed in the light novel. This is the end of volume 4, I ended up rereading the entire series to fill in the gaps between my memory, what was changed, and added.
