That, or they've will just idolize Shadow even more for being able to communicate in a language they do not know so fluently. That said, language constantly evolves, so even Cid may not fully understand all of the modern Japanese she speaks.

Yeah, the cooking competition was a filler, but Alpha reminiscing the early days of Shadow Garden is in the novel. Delta's past is probably also in the novel, I don't really remember.

Interestingly though, there were never a filler before in the manga.

IIRC, there were people deliberately making the situation worse for their own purposes/gain, and Cid annihilated them. So the monsters are still around but they aren't getting turbo-charged by traitors anymore.

IIRC, the elves are the isolationist types, and aside from the Sword God looking for her missing niece (who is Alpha), every elf we see was thrown out of the elven lands for succumbing to the monsterification disease (I know it has a name, I don't remember it).

Thus making almost every single elf in the human lands a candidate for Shadow Garden recruitment.

The old world already way too far gone to fully recovered after magic start showing up. While Akane is important to one faction in that crap sack world, her disappearance wouldn't change the whole world tragectory. In fact, with Cid clearing up a bunch of major hives around that base they been to, the humans there might have gained more than they lost.
