it sounds like 1 guy, the sword master went berserk. how are the other sword bearers responsible for his calamity, especially being with that eternal contract in play

now that original bearers for most of the swords have changed hands, would those eternal contracts even still stand?

okay but why would he need to kill the other swordbearers? could just kill the one in the middle..... now criminals have access to WMDs....samuras goals might be better understandable now but theyre still stupid
Because as the old man said, if they kill the center piece the rest will soon follow, samura is trying to replicate what he did with chihiro so that their links to the swords are cut and they don't die as well

What one dude dropped a nuke and thats everyones fault?
Some dude rolled up to his house spouting some schizo shit and that buck broke samura into becoming a traitor?
This actually made the entire situation more retarded not less

Anyway this "if the main dude dies everyone dies" reveal is completely braindead as well
did you see that, blind man?
lmao

AFAIK only Uruha's sword changed owners. The others are sealed but still contracted to their wartime masters.

Everyone's saying "One guy dropped a nuke-" but let's not forget Yura called out the Seitei war itself, not just the nuke. All the sword bearers are responsible and guilty of being war tools. The page where Yura mentioned the treaty shows a mother and her child with the text "avoid further casualties", followed by Samura's concerned face. It's clear the war heroes killed plenty of civillians too, even if just collaterally.

The armed forces (at least the UK and US ones) have rules for this (and similarly, violations are sometimes hidden). The implications is that they could have tried to stop the sword saint beforehand but didn't. They might had committed other war crimes, however standing by while 200k people who had surrendered were horribly murdered is the main sin in question

So the sword master is going to be MC's mother?
I say this because we haven't seen his mother, and his father had a close relationship with the sword master as his most trusted companion. That's clearly setting up a reveal where it's his mom. Anyone who's read a shonen can see it from a mile away, an unmentioned parent is a Chekhov's gun here.
