@Whyte
@Acolytus @kleiner While it isn't exactly pleasant, how would you expect the scans to make ends meet if people were to only use aggregators? You can't possibly expect them to pay so we can read for free, right?
First of all, no one is innocent here: scans (I was part of one, long time ago) don't abide by the law, and all of us readers know that. No sophistry like fair use and lack of english license and sh*t like that gonna really matters if the japanese starts wasting money hiring foreign law firms. Hence, they have no right to demand anything from anyone.
Well, that said, they can keep scanlating for free or can demand payment or do a Patreon-system, whatever is OK and I don't complain about it, no problem at all for me. What is sad and a little pathetic is pretend to do for free and persuade (through delays or forced ad view) the reader to give monatery compensation. Nobody is forcing them to scanlate, they shouldn't try to force people to give them payment, directly or indirectly.
But again, they do what they want, I complain whatever I want. Freedom is what matters.
