Reminds me of a college friend of mine. He's from a well-known family. They're not extremely rich, but they do own multiple grocery/hardware stores in town. But, damn, I was really surprised how strict is his parents are. He's an adult, but they're always monitoring his whole life. There was one time he got slapped and humiliated in public because he disobeyed them. It was really shocking to see.

I mean, there could be possible ethnical systems where he would've right had she been speaking about herself, and her own situation. In what comes to Kaguya, she's 100% spot on, and she owes no one any gratitude not to voice that.
