Man if it weren't for the horrible brainwashing and rape this would be a genuinely compelling story. But it can't. He cannot be the good guy. The only thing that I feel would actually work for this story is if everyone witnessed what their former personalities were but I doubt they'll do that.
It's been a while since I've read the earlier parts of this so do me a favor and remind me of the general timeline of when he brainwashed Kureha or Setsuna. I remember him manipulating, lying, and misleading them on various occasions, but I don't remember any instances of what I would call brainwashing unlike with Flare(Freia) or Norn(Ellen).I think the only one that is good here is the sword hero. Maybe Setsuna too. The rest were manipulated and straight up brainwashed. Eve as the end game would be nice. Eh. Good thing he is realizing stuff now that his mind is not as clouded with revenge anymore.
It's the same soy boy nonsense every bloody time someone says "Redo Of Healer","Goblin Slayer",and/or "The Rising Of The Shield Hero" is bad simply because their woke arse couldn't handle nor believe the first episode. The MC was drugged, brainwashed, raped and tortured for years of 'both' of his lives, and people expect him (14 y.o. peasant orphan at the very start, btw) not to be mentally traumatized into oblivion of the human psyche and so that he could've remained a knight in shining armour after all those things?
Seriously, guys?
My problem with this story is that the current chapters are playing out like your typical harem romcom isekai, when the princess+her sister have been brainwashed into being different people.
Only the princesses. This guy literally brainwashed all these girls and seems to believe now that they want him.
The MC having serious trauma from the past torture, sexual abuse, and drug addiction isn’t the issue.

It's funny how "Redo of Healer" gets these extreme negative reactions, and then you look over to "Overlord" that is objectively a million times more F'd up story with a million times more irredeemable characters and nobody seems to have a problem with that. Granted much better worldbuilding and storytelling but my point still stands. It's the same soy boy nonsense every bloody time someone says "Redo Of Healer","Goblin Slayer",and/or "The Rising Of The Shield Hero" is bad simply because their woke arse couldn't handle nor believe the first episode.
And all three have far better stories.
That's the point, he is healing and so is the world so it can become the land of adventure he always wanted and closer to a 'normal' world.is that the current chapters are playing out like your typical harem romcom isekai
He is. Hurting murderous rapists torturers doesn't make you the same as them. Sorry you can't get over your 'Self-defense is just as bad as unilateral violence!' mindset your school gave you because it was easier to keep you quiet rather than solve the issue.while still believing he is the good guy in the situation.
where to read it?Do you want Spoiler ? xD
I found what happen in the future interesting, at least there is a lot to look forward to for the next volume.
The spoiler is that
a lot of shit happen basically, things was going bad and Norm calculate the best thing MC can do is to use the Demon Lord's heart thing and Redo the world, she realized it without MC telling her about the redo, but the MC is against it, mainly coz he is afraid of losing the girls, afraid he can't have them again if things don't happen exactly the same...
But a lot of shit still happen and MC even loss a few harem member, so he is forced to Redo...
At this point he confess to everyone about everything, some like Freya/Flare already suspected it too themselves, they basically ask the MC to befriend them again, Freya ask the MC that she hope MC basically make her past self become MC's woman without any rape or brainwash this time and MC agree, Gauren in the meanwhile say he can try to keep the memory of some of the harem members intact and send it to their past self but it's not easy and 100% working, so only a few of them might keep the memory the others wont work. then the MC say the title of the story and do the "Redo of Healer" thing again xD
next volume gonna be interesting, who keep their memory and how they will react or how MC will try to get Freya without any brainwash or rape xD

No?,it was repeatedly shown up until now that he recognises the fact he does all this just for his own benefit, and that the few times he could've really saved those he cared for,it was already too late. The MC having serious trauma from the past torture, sexual abuse, and drug addiction isn’t the issue.
The issue is the fact that the MC has done those same things to some of his abusers as a part of his “revenge” while still believing he is the good guy in the situation.
And there COULD be the potential for a good story if the author handled it in a way that showed the MC was also an awful person for doing the exact same horrible things, but instead the MC is unironically portrayed as the real hero. The author doesn’t seem to care about the hypocrisy.
Having horrific experiences and abuse does not justify a person to be able to turn around and do the same things back to those people. If the princess were to regain her original personality and the ability to rewind time, would she be justified in brainwashing the MC again with drugs and sexually abusing him because that’s basically what he did to her?
You can’t be a hero while using your abilities forcibly rewire the brains of people so that their new personalities are in love with you. It’s genuinely fucked up that the author doesn’t really seem to care, and is continuing to portray the MC as being the good guy in the story.
Which might actually change,he might be able to do what he couldn't before,so that'll be very interesting to see.Do you want Spoiler ? xD

Try and read what I wrote again? I mentioned Kureha and Setsuna at the start as being the only good options and mentioning the rest were brainwashed. Okay, so let me check with you for a sec so I know exactly where you stand. The MC having serious trauma from the past torture, sexual abuse, and drug addiction isn’t the issue.
