Satori youkai are mind-reading, monkey-like creatures. In Touhou, they're cute girls with eye accessories, though.

Satori is a youkai that able to read what's in your mind and your deepest heart, even if you try to hide it (so you can't like, thinking about moving left when in actuality you're moving right, Satori sees through that lies, thus why their weakness usually are unconscious person being controlled, or someone that's too dumb to even have working braincell).

In the context of the manga, Satori basically says that even though so far the kid seems cheerful (and one of the older chapter with the Ghost at the school gate saying he's more cheerful now), he still has deep trauma and wound inside his heart, and he still keep the bullying he might got from other child around him bottled up.
