It still amazes me that people choose to live here and have children in a town that explicitly eats children, unless they're being forced to for the good of the hive. Like, I know that they said early on that "only the crazy and the desperate live here" but there's no way there's enough crazies to keep the population going, or enough desperate to shift to an R-selected survival strategy.

So, there's a tiiiiiiiiny chance that she's actually trying to help and Sakura's getting paranoid because of the previous classmates...and like a 99% chance she just wants Sakura to reach out so she can claim a finger as a trophy/make it clear she's offering them to the specter/etc. in an attempt to get Sakura and the prez killed before she inevitably gets torn apart by the illusory ghosts of her dead clubmates.

Also, props to Andou for not wanting to split up more than necessary.

Something else is definitely going on. Like the fact that the twins’ father was the head priest of the shrine, but he neither appeared and, after the surviving sister left, the shrine itself was strangely abandoned. Additionally the whole premise was kids in this town are given strange names, and the strange names are used as a collective ward against evil. So the parents seem to be both aware and desiring to protect their children somewhat.

As for this hotel, they’ve obviously been transported to The Overlook. Just look at the carpet! Now they either have to find room 237 or just blow up the boiler in the basement >.>

Come to think of it the twins only said that their dad was the head priest, not that their dad inherited the shrine from his parents.

Maybe instead of a normal population where a decent chunk of some families have been there for multiple generations the town attracts desperate childless people in with a Rumpelstiltskin-esque deal:

I'll fix whatever problem you're having if you move into this town and have x kids there.

That's a relatively easy sell, especially if they don't have time to look into the town at all.

I'd be really interested in finding out if the parents have normal names.

Just casually walking around with a toe in her pocket, and not caring about how many people died? She's crazy. Also, how did she survive this long with how careless she is?
