NO WAY KONOE DIED JUST LIKE THAT after 22 volume she just died like that, by hitting her head? at least make her die in a blaze of glory not after failed parachute jump . If the next volume doesnt blow me away or keep it interesting i might just drop this or no more monthly release i will just wait for volume release.

I don't quite belive that Konoe's dead given that she's basically one of the main characters. If she is though, it may kill this series, as deaths of major characters are enough to stop big series dead, especially when it's done over and over again.

That said, someone with cardiac arrest that needs stuff like chest compressions just dying instead of being revived is more realistic. Shows make that happen all the time for drama (and it almost always succeeds) but in real life, if someone's that far gone, resuscitation normally fails, and if it somehow succeeds, the person usually doesn't live that long anyway.

Not all deaths have to be on screen, but man. MAN. RIP to the story's protagonist. We even had a six month timeskip after she was declared dead. Unless she's in a basement somewhere being turned into a half-kaiju soldier, she's just straight up gone.

This hits as hard as chapter 8 did. Sheesh.

The rest of the chapter was pretty good, lots of tense action with little expo to get in the way. The finale just felt a little rushed, almost axe-like. The author might have burned himself out on this arc.

It’s a set up for a time skip. Next chapter will be set six years in the future, with Naomi graduating from JSDF academy, when suddenly another giant Kaiju emerges.

It really is a delicate balance. You need the deaths of characters to show the threat, but you risk making your audience nihilistic and not caring about the story anymore. We still have the family of psykers, so presumably focus will shift to them.

So true. Right now though, I'm feeling like when a certain someone "did not return" in LoGH. The series just failed to keep my interest after that.

I say that cause killing what was basically the primary protagonist is a really bold move that few writers do and even less writers can make it actually work, I really don't buy it, either this is a fake out cause she's infected with something from Nue and the secret group helping them want her as a test subject or she'll just come back to life
