There is a real JS Kurobe, but she's a training ship. I'm guessing the mangaka made this mistake due to trying to name a Mogami-class frigate. Mogamis are named after rivers like the IJN's cruisers in WW2, and Kurobe is a river whose name had never been used to name IJN cruisers. The mangaka probably picked the name because it's unlikely the JMSDF would use it to name a Mogami, but ironically that's because they already used the name for another ship.

I still recommend using panel cleaner and chatgpt over Google translate and deepl, you get a far more accurate translation and it takes a fraction of the time and effort. You might need to use Google lens on handwritten text and skewed text, but otherwise it works well.
