Eh. Not bad, not great. 6/10.
I feel like there have been a lot of exiled alchemist stories lately. This one doesn't stick out from the crowd.
It doesn't do anything new, and it doesn't flawlessly execute the basics.
The worldbuilding is meh, and there are no impressively creative solutions. Overall, I believe the author hasn't discovered the concept of "doing research", which doesn't reflect well on them doing a science-esque story.
