It's likely going to be written as "yes I do have romantic feelings for Aki" but I'd love for a mangaka to pursue aroace representation via exploration of the feelings. Like "I really like Aki/Hanku a lot and want to be at her side, but I don't easily develop romantic or sexual attraction towards anyone" after a long period of reflecting.

this manga is the most gay straight romance i have ever seen
if this was made in america everyone would be a different flavor of lgbt:
aki feels nonbinary, kanade feels trans, both of them feel gay as fuck, and now we have kanade with something that sounds aromantic
but because it was made in japan it really is just a girl that likes punk aesthetics x a boy that likes lolita aesthetics and nothing else, very neat
